Bobby's JWT 350Z
When the Z33 was first released, many Z car enthusiasts wondered why Nissan did not develop a twin turbocharged version of the car, like its predecessor the Z32 300zx. Just because a turbocharged version of the 350Z never left Japan does not mean the factory VQ35 cannot have turbochargers installed aftermarket. The VQ35 is a surprisingly durable engine right out of the box, and takes very well to turbochargers and as a result, shortly after the 350Z's release many different aftermarket companies began developing turbo kits for the car. Always as the forefront of Nissan tuning and engineering, Jim Wolf Technologies produced one of the first 350Z twin turbo kits for the aftermarket.
As soon as Bobby S. of Virginia purchased the beautiful silver 350z you see here, he knew he had to have this setup on his Z. After made his final decision, he enlisted the help of local 350Z turbocharging specialists here at Altered Atmosphere Motorsports in Gaithersburg. Bobby purchased the Jim Wolf Technologies Twin Turbo kit from Altered Atmosphere, and shortly after it arrived, had it installed on his car. As we all know, the work is far from over after simply installing a turbo kit. A combination of the AAM ECU Flash and the GReddy E-Manage Ultimate was used to oversee engine operation. Dyno tuned in house by the 350Z tuning specialist and owner of Altered Atmosphere, Mike Mahaffey, and Bobby's car was dialed in at a very safe and very streetable 420rwhp.
And just like that, Bobby was enjoying the astonishing power put out by his newly turbocharged 350Z, just the way nature had intended. Despite an already incredibly fast and beautiful 350Z, Bobby has future plans to take his Z to even greater heights. It appears its true when you hear people say, “There’s no such thing as too much power.” Something tells me this won’t be the last time we see Bobby S. and his silver 350Z…
