Juan's Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit
This project was an interesting case for the guys at Altered Atmosphere Motorsports. What makes it so interesting you ask? Well, this is probably the first case we’ve had where a customer has bought a turbo kit and install as a present for his spouse; one lucky chick boosting around in her turbocharged G35 coupe!
The already slightly modified G35 was now ready for a Turbo kit. Our technicians removed the aftermarket headers and reinstalled the stock driver side header so the Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit will fit. An AAM Spec Oil Pan Spacer with Oil Return Line kit was used as a solution to avoid tapping the oil pan which can lead to leaks. To retain the Borla exhaust system that was already on the car, our fabricators whipped up a custom reverse y-pipe to convert the single turbo exhaust into duals.
For some extra power Juan had us install an AAM Spec Angled Plenum spacer and Unorthodox Racing Pulleys as well.
Autometer Nexus EGT, Fuel Pressure, and Boost gauges were installed to monitor the vehicle’s dynamics--the Cipher Diagnostics and Data system was also included to increase the idle and allow Juan to keep an eye on everything.
