Larry's C2 Procharged 350Z
It’s true that the large percentage of the hottest Nissan 350z cars in the country come from the West Coast, most notably California. However, the East Coast of the US has rapidly been catching California and making some showstoppers of its own. With both sides of the country making names for them, often times the Mid West is overlooked. Larry H. from Ohio is out to help his native Mid West gain some time in the spotlight.
Larry’s 350Z started life as a mild 06 Gran Touring model. It didn’t stay that way for very long. Larry purchased a C2 Procharger, Motordyne Plenum Spacer, 440cc injectors, and a 255lph Walboro Fuel Pump. As Larry began the install of the Procharger, he also ordered an UTec Engine Management, Cipher Diagnostic System, AAM Spec High Flow Catalytic Converters, and an AAM Spec Fuel Return System, all from Altered Atmosphere Motorsports in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He also purchased a Bassoni true dual exhaust, transmission cooler, and a valve body upgrade for faster, smoother shifts.
The car ended up yielding 400 wheel horsepower, and 310 wheel torque at a relatively conservative 10 psi. Larry’s car now had adequate power and reliability, and he felt that the next progression in the build of his Z was the looks. Authentic Nismo graphics and rear spoiler were sourced to give the “factory tuned” performance appearance that matches perfectly with the deep Daytona Blue color of Larry’s Z.
There you have it. Short and sweet. A very clean example of what a daily driven 300+hp Z should be. The 350Z enthusiasts from the Mid West should be very proud of this car that represents Z owners of that region in a very positive light.
