Ryan spent no time waiting to mod his 2006 Infiniti G35. Pretty much fresh off the lot, Ryan dropped his car off at Altered Atmosphere Motorsports and wanted it to be a beast when it was time for him to pick it up. The list of modifications to be completed was extensive, and high horsepower numbers were expected.
To start the project Ryan chose to go with the G35 GReddy 18g Twin Turbo Kit with Intercooler. An AAM Spec Oil Pan Spacer with Oil Return Line Kit was also used to assist in the install of the turbo kit and ensure best reliability. The GReddy turbo kit for the 350Z and G35 does not come with a blow off valve. Ryan chose to go with an HKS Super Sequential Blow-off Valve which our fabricators skillfully welded on.
To help airflow on the intake side, our AAM Spec Intake Plenum Spacer was installed. Our next focus was better turbo spool--AAM Spec parts really came into play. Ryan wanted quick turbo spool up and maximum possible exhaust flow; this was accomplished by making use of the AAM Spec 3 in. MaxFlow Dual Downpipes with Open Dumps and AAM Spec 3 in. MaxFlow True Dual Exhaust system. This exhaust setup not only allows the highest flow possible for the G35, it creates menacing sound that sends warning to any other driver who thinks this is just a stock G35 with exhaust.
In order to be sure Ryan’s G35 had as much fuel as it needed, the AAM Spec Fuel Return System was put into place. A Walboro Fuel Pump was also used to rapidly flow fuel into the polished billet fuel rails provided with the AAM Fuel Return System.
An array of essential electronics were picked out to manage this entire system correctly. To monitor the car in action, Black 60mm Greddy Boost, EGT, and Air/Fuel gauges were installed. Turbo accessories include an HKS EVC Boost Controller and HKS Turbo Timer. Engine management was controlled by the TurboXS 350Z UTEC system complete with DTEC 4 Bar Map Sensor and TunerREG.
With expectations for high horsepower gains, the ATS Twin Carbon 1350kg Soft Type Clutch and Flywheel were called upon. Now that all the parts are intact, the G was ready for the dyno.
After a tuning session by our renowned tuner, Mike Mahaffey, Ryan’s G35 made an incredible 465whp on the stock Nissan motor!
