Toby's HKS Rotrex Supercharged 350Z
Toby is a long-time customer who is hardcore into showing his striking Daytona Blue Z. From inside out Toby is focused on building an all-around balanced machine with speed, style, and handling. This time around Toby sent us his Z for more power.
To accommodate more power from his HKS Rotrex Supercharger, Toby had us install some additional goodies. He decided on the JWT VQ35DE S1 Billet Cam Set with the Valve Spring and Shim Kit. We also set him up with our very own AAM Spec 3” MaxFlow True Dual Exhaust System and Angled Plenum Spacer to go between his plenum that we had powder coated Candy Blue.
When all the mechanical upgrades were completed, we lubed the Z’s VQ35DE with Motul 8100 motor oil.
Mike Mahaffey of Altered Atmosphere dyno tuned Toby’s HKS F-Con Pro stand-alone engine management system. Without difficulty Mike crunched out a refined 350whp on our in-house DynoJet with the new setup. On average the HKS Supercharger kit makes 280 to 300whp on a manual transmission. Toby came to the shop originally making 260whp due to driveline loss from the automatic transmission – now with a whooping 350whp Toby’s car is another great example of what is possible when a 350Z meets the AAM Crew!
